Quality Engineer

Duties include:

  • Providing Quality Engineering support to Manufacturing Operations to validate the required processes and methodology was being efficiently worked to
  • Manage & maintain the Company operating system in line with ISO: 9001 & TS (TF) 16949 requirements
  • Producing and releasing PPAP documentation in relation to New Product Introduction launches consistent with customer requirements
  • Rectifying quality related issues during manufacturing or engineering processes – solving the resulting problems by instigating departmental action plans and supplying the relevant information and resources to the affected areas and personnel
  • Undertake and action the development of FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis)
  • Ensure continuous maintenance of Control Plans throughout the entirety of the project/s
  • Effectively communicate and promote the appropriate use of problem solving methodology for efficient Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Actions
  • Organise and monitor relevant production trials for NPI
  • Resolve & report quality issues such as capability, materials & tolerance adherence studies
  • Deal with all APQP duties when required, to ensure the correct utilisation new and existing measurement and calibration systems processes
  • Perform accurate analysis and recording of quality control and assurance data supplied by production departments accordingly
  • Recommend continuous improvement and process change/s to Senior Management to improve effectiveness of current working practices etc.
  • Liaise with customers to fully understand product requirements

Experience required:

  • Previous experience of working in a Quality or Senior Quality Technician role within a 1st or 2nd Tier Automotive Manufacturer
  • HND / HNC or equivalent qualification ideally in Quality or Automotive Engineering
  • Experience of practical problem solving techniques such as 8D, or Six Sigma
  • Have previous experience of working to maintaining ISO 9001 & TS (TF) 16949 quality management systems
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Capable of working effectively as part of a larger team whilst retaining independent initiative when working alone
  • Excellent IT literacy
  • Ability to maintain and develop customer, colleague and supplier relationships at all levels
